Why to Make Your Own Stir Fry Sauce from Scratch?
I love making my own stir fry sauce rather than buying it at the store not only because I learned secret tips from my dad but because it tastes SO much better than any store-bought sauce and it elevates your stir fry meal to the next level.
The beauty of making your own sauce is that you can control the ingredient ratios, making it perfect for your taste. For example, add more pepper if you like that extra spice kick or omit if you can’t handle spicy food.
By making your own sauce you avoid all that extra sugar, sodium, and preservatives found in store-bought sauces.
Also, it’s SUPER easy and quick! Anyone can make it! I promise you’ll never go back to the store-bought sauce after you give it a try.

Coconut Aminos: my favorite alternative to soy sauce. CYou can totally use soy sauce if you prefer.
Rice Vinegar: gives the sour and tangy flavor making this stir fry sauce recipe extra delicious.
Sesame Oil: only a little bit of sesame oil is enough to bring so much Asian flavor to this sauce.
Garlic Powder: an easy alternative to fresh garlic. Garlic flavor is essential to any stir fry dish. Alternatively, you can mince fresh garlic as well.
Red Pepper Flakes (optional): if you like a little bit of spice kick you will definitely want to add some red pepper flakes.
Arrowood Starch: essential to thicken the sauce. Arrowroot starch is gluten-free. It is my favorite corn starch replacement. Feel free to use corn starch if you prefer.
Water or Broth: either one works however broth will add more flavorful to the sauce. I like using vegetable, chicken, or beef broth depending on the dish I’m cooking.
