When it comes to quick snacks, trust me—these 4-ingredient peanut butter banana bites are about to become your new favorite. They’re sweet, salty, crunchy, chocolatey, and only take about 10 minutes to put together. Best part? No baking, no fuss—just a fun snack my whole family can’t stop eating.

Frozen peanut butter banana bites made with banana slices, pretzels, creamy peanut butter, and a drizzle of melted dark chocolate, sprinkled with sea salt.

This recipe is basically fail-proof, which is why I love making it with my two little boys (ages 3 and 4). They think they’re “helping,” but really, they just want an excuse to lick peanut butter off their hands. Honestly, I can’t blame them!

And since this recipe doesn’t require measuring everything down to the exact tablespoon, you can totally adjust as you go.

More peanut butter? Go for it. Extra chocolate? Always yes. It’s flexible, fun, and kid-friendly from start to finish.

Step By Step Easy Assembling of The Banana Bites

Freeze for 30 minutes so everything firms up.
This step will make the chocolate covering easier. They won’t fall apart in the chococlate during the dipping process.

Freeze again. Once they’re set, transfer to an airtight container. We keep a stash in the freezer at all times for snack emergencies.

Mom-to-Mom Tips

  • Don’t skip the first freeze! Freezing before dipping makes the bites much easier to handle and keeps the pretzels from sliding off.
  • Store in the freezer, not the fridge. Frozen banana bites keep their texture and taste way better. In the fridge, they’ll turn mushy.
  • Make a double batch. They disappear fast—I’ve learned the hard way!

Fun Variations You Should Try

If you know me, I always love to give you some suggestions to “spice up” the recipe and customize them to your liking.

Here are a few things that will keep these snacks interesting always:

  • Sprinkles on Top: Oh my! Who doesn’t like some fun colorful sprinkles? Call it the very special birhday cake flavor. It’s all about the naming convention, ya know?
  • Coconut Flakes: Sprinkle them on top of the chocolate before it hardens. Let’s get that tropical vibe going!
  • Peppermint chips: Hello, holidays! I have gotten peppermint chips from Trader Joes before and they are just the perfect addition! If you can’t find peppermint chips, you can also drizzle a little bit of peppermint essential oil in the melted chocolate. Okay, now I am ready for Christmas.
  • Other crunchy things: Instead of pretzels, you can try some other salty crunchy snacks like potato chips, sweet granola, or use some of your kids’ favorite cereal. The sky is the limit!
  • Berries – Add a blueberry or raspberry on top before freezing.

If you’re looking for a snack that’s easy, delicious, and fun for kids to help with, these peanut butter banana bites are it. They’ve become a regular in our freezer stash, and honestly, I don’t see that changing anytime soon.
