A simple homemade lavender syrup made with dried lavender buds, sugar, and water. Perfect for lattes, matcha, ice cream and cozy bedtime milk.

Ingredients

  • 1 cup water
  • 1/4 cup dried lavender buds, culinary grade *
  • 1 cup sugar

Instructions 

  • Add water, dried lavender buds, and sugar to a small pot.
  • Bring the mixture to a boil over medium heat.
  • Once boiling, immediately reduce the heat to low and simmer for 10 minutes.**
  • Turn off the heat and let the syrup cool in the pot. The longer it steeps, the stronger the lavender flavor will be. ***
  • Strain out the lavender buds using a fine mesh strainer.
  • Pour the lavender syrup into a clean glass jar or airtight container.
  • Store in the refrigerator.

Notes

*Use 1/3 cup for a stronger flavor
**Turn the heat to simmer right after the mixture start to boil. Do not over boil it.
***You can use the lavender syrup right away after simmering for 10 minutes. I prefer to let it cool in the pot (with lavender in it). The longer it steeps, the more concentrated the flavor is.
