My family has adored this recipe ever since I started making it. Even my picky 3-year-old and 15 month old toddlers devoured every last bit of honey garlic salmon on their plate, and asked for more.

This recipe is delicious no matter how you serve it! Pair it with your favorite veggies like this 15 Minute Zucchini Mushroom Stir Fry, over a bed of soft and fluffy rice, or noodles!

The honey garlic sauce I used for this salmon has been a staple in my house.

It is sticky and sweet, comprised of a honey garlic sauce that is versatile to go on chicken, salmon, noodles or just about everything that needs a flavor upgrade. You can keep a mason jar of this liquid magic marinade in your fridge for when you need a nice glaze finish to your meals.

Let’s Get those Ingredients Together

  • Salmon is the main star of this dish. You can use farm raised or wild caught, it is truly all up to your preference. Farm-raised salmon tend to me fattier which my toddlers prefer. Quality wild caught salmon is leaner but also can have a lot of flavors. You can’t go wrong with your pic!
  • Honey is key here people! I like a simple, unflavored honey. Doesn’t need to be fancy, just grab what you have!
  • Garlic and garlic powder, this is such a wonderful component to the dish. Garlic is very much loved in my household. We love the bite and flavor it gives to all our savory dishes.
  • Arrowroot starch is simply an unflavored thickening agent that will help your sauce become that gooey, thick, delicious texture.
  • Rice vinegar, so good in dressings, sauces and for dipping.
  • Coconut aminos, salty, soy free and gluten free with tons of umami flavor that adds depth to your sauces!

Let’s Get to the Step to Step Instruction

Different air fryers may vary in temperature and cooking speed, some need preheating, some do not. The ultimate goal is to make sure the salmon is cooked in the middle, over cooking them can result in dry salmon and we want to avoid that at all costs.

Once the salmon bites are done cooking, remove the salmon cubes gently from the air fryer with tongs. Pour your gorgeous honey garlic sauce over it and gently combine. Garnish with sprinkle of black and/or white sesame seeds, green onion or a litte bit of freshly minced garlic.

Garnishing with freshly minced garlic is my dad’s favorite way to finish most of his Chinese dishes that has garlic in them. I love adding little bits of what my parents do throughout my own cooking, it makes it feel like they’re a little less far away.
