My boys love to dip. Because a delicious sauce makes everything taste that much better.

6 Simple Ingredients for Banana Foster French Toast Sticks

Simple Ingredients for tasty Banana French Toast

All you will need is 6 ingredients that you likely already have at home- and you too can make this tasty breakfast!

Plus- using an air fryer helps, this is our favorite! If you don’t have one though that’s okay, you can do it on a skillet or in the oven!

Ripe Bananas– Make sure you have EXTRA spotty bananas for the most optimal flavor

Bread– I tend to use brioche as it soaks up the best and makes the best sticks, but you can use whatever you have on hand

Eggs– 3 eggs are all that is needed for dredging the bread to make the french toast sticks

Milk– You can use any milk, but my typical choice is canned coconut milk as it adds an extra creaminess factor which we love!

Vanilla– In a true bananas foster- you would use rum, but for simplicity I am using vanilla extract. You could always purchase rum extract from the store though!

How To Make Banana Foster French Toast Sticks

Begin by slicing your bread into stick form

Top these with some warm syrup, whipped cream, fresh fruit, nut butter or anything that makes me feel excited to start your day!

Breakfast Meal Prep for the Whole Family

These french toast are super easy to whip up on the spot but are also great to meal pre ahead of time.

I always get a whole loaf of brioche or challah bread and make them all. Then store some in an airtight container in the fridge for up 3 days.

If you are planning further out, these french toast sticks are also freezer-friendly. So they are great to batch-make and store in the freezer.

Best Ways to Store and Reheat French Toast Sticks

Since these are made in the air fryer, you will want to make sure these cool properly on a wire cooling rack before properly storing.

We make french toast sticks all the time, so we always keep a bag in the freezer! Our favorite to keep in the freezer are these simple french toast sticks, but these banana sticks are a close second!

Fridge: These will stay good in the fridge for 3-4 days in an airtight container.

Freezer: These will stay good in the freezer for about 2 months in an airtight container.

Reheating: If reheating from the fridge, you can pop them in the microwave for 15-30 seconds to reheat. If reheating from the freezer, I recommend letting them sit on the counter for about 5-10 minutes before reheating in the microwave!

French toast is definitely a staple in the Stack house! Anything from french toast sticks, to french toast casserole!

My personal favorite is this Apple Pie French Toast Casserole! This can be prepped ahead overnight, and enjoyed for brunch or whatever gathering you may have!

Ingredients

Banana Foster Mixture

  • 3 eggs
  • 2/3 cup milk of your choice
  • 1/2 cup mashed banana
  • 2 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1 tsp cinnamon
  • 1/4 cup maple syrup, optional*

Bread

  • 16 – 20 slices of toast sticks

Instructions

  • Preheat Air Fryer to 400F (if it needs preheating).
  • Slice your toast into thick sticks about 4 inches long. You can also just leave the entire slice whole if you prefer.
  • In a big slightly rounded dish, mix the eggs, milk, pumpkin puree, vanilla extract, pumpkin pie spice, cinnamon, and maple syrup (optional).
  • Spray or line the bottom of the air fryer tray with parchment paper and place the sticks in the basket to bake for 12-13 minutes. ** Don’t overcrowd and flip halfway!
  • Remove from the air fryer or oven and enjoy with your favorite fixings.

Notes

*You can add more or less depending on the bread you choose to use or your preferred sweetness.
**In the case you decide to use your oven, then simply bake in the oven at 400 F for 10 – 12 minutes. I also like using an oven baking rack to make sure all sides are baked evenly.
