Almond Flour Banana Bread {6 ingredients}
This moist, fluffy, and sweet banana bread is a staple in my house. Made with almond flour, almond butter and sweetened mainly by ripe bananas, this banana bread is perfect for breakfast, snacks, or dessert.
A loaf of almond flour banana bread will forever be on rotation in my household. I mean, it is just so delicious and easy to make.
Topping your sliced banana bread with tangy yogurt and fruits for breakfast is a great way to start your day.
Or better yet, you can scoop a dollop of ice cream on a warmed up slice of banana bread for dessert. It is a sure great way to end your night on a sweet note.
If you’re feeling really cheeky, try smoothing some creamy nut butter over your banana bread slice and sprinkling a handful of chocolate chips on top for a quick and filling on-the-go snack.
You may already know this, but I love using bananas as a sweetener in my recipes.
One of my all-time favorite breakfast pancake recipes is made with bananas. Moreover, sweet potato is also a great natural sweetener. Like these flourless sweet potato brownies. They are a hit!
Finally a Delicious Banana Bread Recipe Made Grain-Free
Yes, this banana bread recipe is grain-free.
That’s why the texture is super gooey and moist. It melts in your mouth. If you are team gooey, this recipe is for you!
But if you are team fluffy, don’t worry, I’ve got you covered with an optional ingredient to give this recipe a fluffy factor.
Tom, my husband, devoured half a loaf on the first night I made it! Then he made a comment “ I think you could make it a little fluffy next time.”
Tough critic, am I right?
So here it goes, I added extra coconut flour the second time around. And voila! It gives it a little extra fluffy, cloud like texture.
Ingredients You Need to Make This Banana Bread
- Ripe Bananas
If you’ve got some spotty bananas on hand, this would be a perfect time to make this super easy banana bread. When bananas are spotty, they are sweet and perfect for baking. They also act as a binder in recipes like this. - Almond Butter
The almond butter gives this fans’ favorite dessert a nutty sweet flavor and makes it so moist. The almond butter also acts as a binding agent in this recipe to bring all these amazing ingredients seamlessly together.
- Coconut Flour and Almond Flour
I tested and tweaked this recipe many times and I decided to include coconut flour. The addition of the coconut flour makes the texture of this banana bread a little more fluffy and soft. - Eggs
To make vegan loaf you can try using flax eggs instead of real eggs. - Baking soda
Optional Ingredients to Spice up the Almond Flour Banana Bread
I am usually pretty extra when it comes to baked goods. As much as I love to keep it simple, I also enjoy adding a few fun ingredients to spice up my recipes.
Below are suggestions on extra add-ins to make this banana bread even more fun.
1. Chopped Walnuts
Chopped walnuts go hand in hand with this dessert. They are made for each other. Chopped walnuts give a slice of banana bread that nice texture and crunch when you bite into it.
2. Chocolate Chips and Sea Salt
Fold in a handful of chocolate chips and a generous sprinkle on top along with a little sea salt. This combination will take this delicious banana bread to the next level.
3. More Bananas
To top the banana bread, I have sliced a whole banana vertically and placed it on top. You could also cut some banana rings to top off your banana bread.
Since this banana bread is refined sugar-free, adding a little extra banana will do the trick for your extra sweet cravings.
How to Make Easy Banana bread
Start with preheating your oven to 350 F.
Then, mash the bananas in a large mixing bowl using the back of a fork. Add the eggs and almond butter and whisk together using a hand mixer.
Now, add the almond flour, coconut flour, and baking soda to the wet mix and combine well.
If you prefer a sweeter banana bread, add some coconut sugar to the mixture as well.
Then, gently fold in chocolate chips and walnuts (optional) to the healthy banana bread batter.
Line an 8×4 loaf pan with parchment paper and spray with coconut oil.
Pour the banana bread mixture into the loaf pan and top with bananas or more chocolate and walnuts (optional).
Lastly, bake the banana bread in the preheated oven for 35 – 40 minutes or until a toothpick comes out of the center clean.
Let the banana bread cool, cut into slices, and top with some nut butter, ice cream, or yogurt.
Enjoy!
How to Serve This Banana Bread
If chomping down a hunk of banana bread is one way to enjoy it, that is my favorite way.
1. As a Sweet Breakfast
This banana bread is made with whole food ingredients like bananas, almond flour. It’s perfectly fit for breakfast, to kick your day off the sweet way.
And I guarantee, it will for sure kick your sweet tooth to the curb.
2. Guilt-Free Dessert
A slice of banana bread for dessert? Yes, please! Top it with some ice cream and some more almond butter.
The line between breakfast and dessert is quite blurred in my house.
How to Store Your Banana Bread
This banana bread can be stored at room temperature for 3 days in an airtight container or ziplock bag, or in the fridge for up to 5 days.
And YES! This banana bread can be stored in the freezer as well. I recommend slicing the loaf before freezing it for easy access. Simply defrost in the microwave for a few seconds when you are craving this delicious bread, for breakfast, or as a late-night dessert.

Hello! I loved this recipe and it came out so delicious, but I had one question. My banana bread turned out green! I read online that it could be because of too much baking soda, any thoughts? I also did leave it out overnight right after baking so not sure if that has something to do with it. Any thoughts?
Thank you! 🙂
Hi Yasmine,
This could occur depending on the baking powder that you used.
Happy Baking,
Constance
This recipe is fantastic. Thank you!
Hi there,
I am so glad you love it!
Shuang
Just made this they are delicious and moist (I’m sorry there’s no other word to describe it) I love you always incorporate sweet potatoes into your recipe!
Omg!! I’ve made 4 loaves in 5 days…. I am a banana bread aficionado, and I have to say this is my favorite recipe by far. I tweaked it slightly to fit with my diet – I subbed the almond flour with lupin flour, I added vanilla, and I used Lakanto instead of coconut sugar. This is my quarantine staple – thank you so much! Carin
Hi Carin,
Aw yayy!! SO glad you love it! That makes me so happy! I am obsessed too. All the banana bread please.

Would the time need to be adjusted at all if baked in muffin pans?
Hi Erin,
Yes! It will be shorter time, also a little extra baking soda. Start with 20 minutes and add more time until toothpick come out clean.
Shuang
I put it in the oven for almost 40 mins and it just came out like mashed sweet potatoes with some bananas
🙁
I also added all the extra ingredients.
Any tips for what to change for next time?
oh noo! Sorry babe! What temperature did you set your oven to? What size of pan did you use? 1. You oven may not have got hot enough (in that case, you could crank it up to 375 or use a cast iron skillet instead of regular loaf man) 2. You added the coconut flour and it didn’t help either? Try decrease the banana to 1/2 a cup (about 1 large banana). If you have cassava flour, you can use that instead of coconut flour (it will be more fluffy than gooey).
Let me know how it goes. Hope it works out.

This is delicious!! I love your creativity with creating naturally delicious foods. I halved the recipe and put it in a mini loaf pan so it took about 40mins to cook

Where do you store the banana bread?
Hi Emma,
I put them in a air tight container in the fridge for 4-5 days. Or you can store them in the freezer!

Shuang Shuang
Currently in the oven as I type! How would you recommend storing the bread once cooled? Counter or refrigerator?
I should all mention that I added hemp seeds, one serving Vital Proteins Collagen, cinnamon, vanilla extract, salt, coconut flour, and sprinkled flax seeds on top.
Yesss I love adding vital protein! That sounds amazing Cait <3
