Thick slices of a healthy banana bread on a plate. There is a lot of chocolate in the bread

A loaf of almond flour banana bread will forever be on rotation in my household. I mean, it is just so delicious and easy to make.

Topping your sliced banana bread with tangy yogurt and fruits for breakfast is a great way to start your day.

Or better yet, you can scoop a dollop of ice cream on a warmed up slice of banana bread for dessert. It is a sure great way to end your night on a sweet note.

If you’re feeling really cheeky, try smoothing some creamy nut butter over your banana bread slice and sprinkling a handful of chocolate chips on top for a quick and filling on-the-go snack.

You may already know this, but I love using bananas as a sweetener in my recipes.

One of my all-time favorite breakfast pancake recipes is made with bananas. Moreover, sweet potato is also a great natural sweetener. Like these flourless sweet potato brownies. They are a hit!

Finally a Delicious Banana Bread Recipe Made Grain-Free

Yes, this banana bread recipe is grain-free.

That’s why the texture is super gooey and moist. It melts in your mouth. If you are team gooey, this recipe is for you!

But if you are team fluffy, don’t worry, I’ve got you covered with an optional ingredient to give this recipe a fluffy factor.

Tom, my husband, devoured half a loaf on the first night I made it! Then he made a comment “ I think you could make it a little fluffy next time.”

Tough critic, am I right?

So here it goes, I added extra coconut flour the second time around. And voila! It gives it a little extra fluffy, cloud like texture.

Ingredients You Need to Make This Banana Bread

fruit, almond butter, coconut flour, almond flour, baking soda, chocolate chips, walnuts, and three eggs.
  • Ripe Bananas
If you’ve got some spotty bananas on hand, this would be a perfect time to make this super easy banana bread. When bananas are spotty, they are sweet and perfect for baking. They also act as a binder in recipes like this.
  • Almond Butter
The almond butter gives this fans’ favorite dessert a nutty sweet flavor and makes it so moist. The almond butter also acts as a binding agent in this recipe to bring all these amazing ingredients seamlessly together.

  • Coconut Flour and Almond Flour
I tested and tweaked this recipe many times and I decided to include coconut flour. The addition of the coconut flour makes the texture of this banana bread a little more fluffy and soft.
  • Eggs
To make vegan loaf you can try using flax eggs instead of real eggs.
  • Baking soda

Optional Ingredients to Spice up the Almond Flour Banana Bread

A loaf of healthy banana bread shot from above. It's cut into pieces and there is a lot of dark dairy free chocolate

I am usually pretty extra when it comes to baked goods. As much as I love to keep it simple, I also enjoy adding a few fun ingredients to spice up my recipes.

Below are suggestions on extra add-ins to make this banana bread even more fun.

1. Chopped Walnuts

Chopped walnuts go hand in hand with this dessert. They are made for each other. Chopped walnuts give a slice of banana bread that nice texture and crunch when you bite into it.

2. Chocolate Chips and Sea Salt

Fold in a handful of chocolate chips and a generous sprinkle on top along with a little sea salt. This combination will take this delicious banana bread to the next level.

3. More Bananas

To top the banana bread, I have sliced a whole banana vertically and placed it on top. You could also cut some banana rings to top off your banana bread.

Since this banana bread is refined sugar-free, adding a little extra banana will do the trick for your extra sweet cravings.

How to Make Easy Banana bread

Start with preheating your oven to 350 F.

Then, mash the bananas in a large mixing bowl using the back of a fork. Add the eggs and almond butter and whisk together using a hand mixer.

Now, add the almond flour, coconut flour, and baking soda to the wet mix and combine well.

How to Store Your Banana Bread

This banana bread can be stored at room temperature for 3 days in an airtight container or ziplock bag, or in the fridge for up to 5 days.

And YES! This banana bread can be stored in the freezer as well. I recommend slicing the loaf before freezing it for easy access. Simply defrost in the microwave for a few seconds when you are craving this delicious bread, for breakfast, or as a late-night dessert.
