These Apple Pie Waffle Pops have been the most fun breakfast for my family this fall. They are incredibly easy to make. Simply slice an apple into thin wedges, dip each piece in your favorite waffle batter, and cook them in a waffle maker just like mini waffles.

The apple slices become warm and tender in the middle while the waffle batter gets golden and slightly crispy on the outside. Finish each waffle pop with a little cinnamon sugar or maple syrup, and you have all the cozy flavors of apple pie in an easy, kid-friendly breakfast.

I love using my favorite waffle mix to keep things quick, but you can use any waffle batter you like, store-bought or homemade.

Has anyone gone apple picking yet? Add these apple waffle pops to your list!

You can use just about any variety of apple, and you can even recruit the kids to help make them. My 5-year-old loves helping me cook, and this is such a fun recipe for little hands.

Instead of chopping apples and mixing them into waffle batter, simply slice an apple into thin wedges, coat each piece in batter, and put them straight into the waffle maker.

A few minutes later, you have a fluffy waffle on the outside with a warm, tender apple hiding in the middle.

And because they’re made into little sticks, they’re perfect for little hands to grab, dip, and eat!

Tips for the Best Apple Pie Waffle Pops

From my experience, it’s best to slice the apples fairly thin. If the apple slices are too thick, the waffle batter may be done cooking before the apple has enough time to soften.

But don’t worry about making every piece look perfect! The batter will spread a little in the waffle maker, so you’ll end up with all kinds of shapes. That’s part of the fun.

Depending on the size of your waffle maker, you may need to work in batches. Avoid overcrowding so the waffle batter has enough room to spread and cook around each apple slice.

For even more apple pie flavor, add a little cinnamon or a pinch of apple pie spice directly to your waffle batter.

And of course, don’t forget the toppings!

Topping and Dip Ideas for Waffle Pops

You know how much I love toppings, and that’s another reason I love these Apple Pie Waffle Pops. They’re simple and versatile, so you can dress them up with so many different flavor combinations.

Cinnamon sugar and maple syrup are our classics. Warm apples, cinnamon, and maple syrup? It just screams fall.

Granola butter might be my kids’ favorite way to enjoy these. It’s creamy, a little sweet, and perfect for dipping.

You can also try:

  • Greek yogurt
  • Peanut butter
  • Almond butter
  • Whipped cream
  • Caramel sauce
  • Melted chocolate
  • Chopped nuts

And how fun would a little Sunday waffle pop brunch be? Set out a few different dips and toppings and let everyone make their own plate. Somehow breakfast is always more exciting when the kids get to be involved.
