Fluffy and Moist Maple Donuts with bacon pieces and coconut cashew cream icing making a lighter breakfast, and dessert to satisfy your sweet tooth! These maple bacon donuts are so delicious and easy to make.
Place 5-6 pieces of bacon on a broiling pan. Broil for 4-5 minutes or until crispy.
Transfer to a piece of paper towel on a plate. Once the bacon cools down, chop into pieces. Set aside.
For the Donuts:
Pre-heat oven to 350 F. Grease a Donut pan with coconut oil.
In big mixing bowl, combine the dry ingredients – almond flour, coconut flour, tapioca flour and baking soda
In a second medium mixing bowl, whisk all the wet ingredients together – maple syrup, coconut oil and nut milk. Then pour the wet ingredients over the dry ingredients. Mix well.
Fold in 2 tbsp bacon pieces. Then pour the donut batter in donut pan about ¾ full (do not pour over the middle piece).
Bake 15-17 minutes or until tooth pick come out clean.
For the Maple Coconut Glaze:
Whisk 1/4 cup coconut cream, ¼ cup maple syrup, ¼ cup cashew butter together.
Leave in the fridge or freezer for at least 20 minutes for it to harden a little bit.
Wait until donuts completely cooled down. Take the frosting out of the fridge or freezer. Then pour over the donuts. Sprinkle some extra bacon pieces on top. Enjoy!
Notes
Be generous when you grease the donut pan, otherwise, these donuts will be hard to take out.
