Instructions
Preheat your waffle maker according to the manufacturer's instructions. Lightly grease if needed.
Wash the apple and cut it into thin slices or wedges, about 1/4-inch thick.
Prepare your favorite waffle batter according to the recipe or package instructions.
Dip each apple slice into the waffle batter, making sure it is completely coated. Let any excess batter drip off.
Place the battered apple slices onto the preheated waffle maker, leaving a little space between each piece.
Close the waffle maker and cook until the waffle coating is golden brown and cooked through, about 3–5 minutes depending on your waffle maker.
In a small bowl, stir together the sugar and cinnamon. Set aside.
Carefully remove the waffles and sprinkle with cinnamon sugar while warm.
Serve immediately with maple syrup for dipping or drizzling.
