APPLE CRISP MACCHIATO
MADE WITH A HOMEMADE BROWN SUGAR APPLE SYRUP, FROTHY MILK AND STRONG ESPRESSO, THIS STARBUCKS COPYCAT APPLE CRISP MACCHIATO IS THE DRINK OF THE FALL. THIS DELICIOUS HOMEMADE FALL DRINK IS CHEAPER AND HEALTHIER FOR YOU, AND CAN BE MADE PALEO AND VEGAN AS WELL.
– Large apple – Brown sugar - coconut sugar for paleo option – Water * – Brown sugar apple syrup – Espresso, or strong coffee – Milk of choice
Start with washing the apple and roughly core the apple. Then thinly slice the apple. Then, in a small to medium-sized pot, combine apple slices, apple cider, and brown sugar. Bring to a boil and then turn to simmer.
Press the apples a few times to get the apples to release more juice. Cover again, and let the apple syrup simmer for 30 – 40 minutes.
Turn the heat off and take to pot from the stove. Let the brown sugar apple syrup cool then pour it into a jar through a strainer or nut milk bag and squeeze as much juice as possible out from the apples.
