This frothy and chocolatey easy homemade Mocha Latte is the perfect way to start your morning. Loaded with superfoods, quick and simple to make, this delicious Mocha recipe is Whole30, Paleo, Keto, and Vegan.

The perfect Coffee on Whole30

With the new year finally here, Whole30 is in full effect. Need your morning cup of java but don’t know how to make it taste good without sugar or cream? Then this recipe is for you!

It is insanely delicious and you can’t beat this warm cozy mug of homemade mocha latte on a cold winter day.

This “Chocolate Latte” recipe has been my go-to for over a year now, so it’s way over-do that I share it with you!

How to Make this Easy Mocha Latte at Home

A frothy homemade mocha latte

This sugar-free homemade mocha latte is super easy to whip together. With only 5 ingredients (and a couple of optional ones) it takes just a minute or two to throw together.

Mocha Latte Ingredients:

  1. Coconut Butter
  2. Cacao Powder
  3. Brewed coffee of your choice
  4. A dash of Sea Salt
  5. Maple Syrup (Omit if you are trying to keep it sugar-free)
  6. Cayenne Pepper (optional)

Put all of your ingredients for the homemade mocha latte in a blender and blend for 30-45 seconds. Voila! You have a sugar-free, Whole30, paleo, keto, vegan, dairy-free superfood elixir to start your day. Or any time of the day, really.

To help speed up the process, throw all of the dry ingredients into the blender while you’re waiting for your coffee to brew. You have to wait for it to finish anyway, so it won’t take you any extra time to make this than it would for your normal cup of coffee.

Optional Ingredient 1: Extra Collagen

Sometimes, I like to throw Vital Proteins Beef Gelatin in my Morning Latte for a little extra froth.

This also gives your latte a protein boost, and gelatin is great for your hair, skin, and nails. Please note that this will no longer be vegan if you add the beef gelatin.

Optional Ingredient 2: Cayenne Pepper

I know the cayenne pepper may seem a bit out of place on that ingredient list, but it actually works really well with the other ingredients in this homemade mocha latte; spices and chocolate go together seamlessly. Cayenne pepper also has a lot of great health benefits so why not kick this superfood beverage up a notch?

Capsaicin is the active ingredient in cayenne peppers that give them their spice and also their medicinal qualities. The more capsaicin a pepper has, the spicier it will be.

Studies suggest that cayenne pepper may boost metabolism, reduce hunger, boost the immune system (which is a MUST at this time of year), lower blood pressure, improve digestion, and may even reduce cancer risk (Read More Here). Plus, it’s so easy to find!

Health Benefits of Cacao Powder

Cayenne pepper isn’t the only superfood ingredient in this homemade mocha latte. Cacao powder is also linked to improved cholesterol and blood sugar levels, lowering the risk of heart attack or stroke, improved mood, support a healthy weight, and has cancer-fighting properties as well.

Cacao, however, is not to be confused with cocoa. Especially those sugar-laden ones you can find in your grocery aisle.

Cacao is made by cold-pressing unroasted cacao beans. This process removes the fat (cocoa butter) but leaves the enzymes intact. Cocoa, on the other hand, is derived from cacao, but it is roasted at high temperatures.

Raw cacao can be expensive, so if you are on a budget or just want to save some cash, you CAN use cocoa powder, just make sure it’s not sweetened.

Why I Love This Whole30 Mocha Latte

There are so many reasons that this homemade Mocha Latte has been a staple in my morning routine. Aside from the fact that it’s decadent and delicious, I feel amazing when I drink this regularly. I don’t get jitters from the caffeine, it includes antioxidants and protein, and it helps keep cravings away.

It is so easy to make which can make your Whole30 Journey more interesting as well. The ingredients are affordable and easy to find, and the recipe is easily customizable to your preferences.

You could add ginger, peppermint oil, orange oil (if you like orange chocolate!), pumpkin spice, apple pie spice… literally anything.

Hope you enjoy this as much as I do!
